The Torch Foundation, a non-profit committed to building a foundation for a better tomorrow, promotes the health and well-being of local children through its support of and partnership with organizations that empower families during challenging times. Its annual Professional of the Year award is presented to an individual who embodies The Torch Foundation’s values, and has made a measurable difference in the lives of young people through mentorship, education or leadership initiatives.

Joined by fellow industry leaders and colleagues, she was honored by The Torch Foundation and its leadership at the organization’s 35^th annual gala, which benefited pediatric care at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Through its work in conjunction with other children’s organizations, the foundation has also previously partnered with NYU Langone Medical Center, Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center and the Ronald McDonald House.

Bush’s specialized expertise in project planning, quality assurance and operational excellence has contributed to her success in leading construction projects for many high-profile, luxury residential and hospitality projects throughout the city.

In addition to her operational and project success, Laura has been a long-time advocate for female growth and development in the construction industry. She is has served on the Board of the Women Builder’s Council in New York City, is a past Chapter President of the Greater New York and Long Island Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and a founding co-chair of the Ambassador Council for Non-Traditional Employment for Women (NEW).
